Project Description
Invocación (Invocation)
It is a film that reconstructs the modest process of filming a short action film in SUPER 8 by three friendly children, around twelve years old, in the city of Buenos Aires during the spring of 1973. From there, it opens up to a broader memoristic reconstruction that would begin, arguably, on the night of March 24, 1999. In it and, apparently, by chance, a couple of dwarves, Damián and Sonetchka, meet in the streets of Buenos Aires, they walk, they fall in love.
Mixing fiction and document, the film traces the union between some events, initially disparate and separated in time: The strange presence of a Sonetchka who wants to find out the whereabouts of her mother and who does not stop disappearing in the corners, the attack on the AMIA (Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina) in the Argentine capital on July 18, 1994, the beginning of the military dictatorship in the country on March 24, 1976, the loss of the super 8 reel of some children who only had a small kidnapping and liberation story.
